Yellowstone National Park: Hungry Bighorn 1000 Piece Puzzle
Photographer: James Kucharas
Skill Level: Intermediate
Although widely distributed across the Rocky Mountains, bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) persist chiefly in small, fragmented populations that are vulnerable to sudden declines as a result of disease, habitat loss, and disruption of their migratory routes due to roads and other human activities. Between 10 and 13 interbreeding bands of bighorn sheep occupy steep terrain in the upper Yellowstone River drainage, including habitat that extends more than 20 miles north of the park. These sheep provide visitor enjoyment as well as revenue to local economies through tourism, guiding, and sport hunting. Mount Everts receives the most concentrated use by bighorn sheep year-round. You are more likely to encounter the herds near the roadside during the winter months, when they decend from the higher elevations to feed where the snow is less deep. This beautiful specimen was 5 feet from my car when i took the photo.
All of our 1000 Piece puzzles measure 27.6 x 19.7 inches when completed. They are cut with an irregular piece shape to aid and strenthen your assembly quest, as well as produce an interlock so tight you can pick it up and flip it over (gently) without losing a piece. (Watch this and see!) They are manufactured using 100% Recycled Grade A chipboard, 1/16 inch thick resulting in sturdy, durable pieces that wont bend or break easily, and mated to a premium Matte finished print. They are then cut using 2 different presses, each going a different direction. This ensures your pieces are always fully cut, not stuck together so you have to tear them apart, damaging your pieces. (Click here for brief video) The end result is a puzzle worthy of being framed and hung in your living room! And we are working on a plan to offer handmade (right in our warehouse) wooden frames in a variety of colors and styles so you can do just that!

Not the most colorful of images, but satisfying to finish. It gives you the closeup view of the sheep that you would have liked to have had in Yellowstone. Excellent quality pieces, no dust.
